A women’s program based on one of the most popular courses from a leading US university is now available across regional and remote WA.

Stanford University is in the heart of Silicon Valley, California, the global epicentre of computing, tech and venture capital, and is famous for courses aligned to those subjects. But some of its most popular courses come from the Life Design Lab, which takes ‘design thinking’ usually used to create tech products and applies it to life. Half a world away, that same opportunity is being repackaged and delivered to women across regional WA to build and enhance their lives and careers.

EnrichHER is a two-day personal development course facilitated by Curtin University and the Rural Regional Remote Women’s Network of WA (RRR). It’s a passion project for the four women who lead it – Professor Julia Richardson, Professor Jane Coffey and Mrs Hannah Wilkinson, all from Curtin University, and RRR CEO Kendall Galbraith.

The program focuses on personal growth, wellbeing, connection and career development. But don’t be fooled into thinking this is an average goal-setting workshop.

Hannah, whose completion of a Life Design course at Stanford provided the first step in getting EnrichHER going, says, “instead of designing a product or an object, you apply the same approach to designing your life”.

Kendall says the course is relevant to rural women who are just starting out, changing direction, re-entering the workforce, or seeking renewed purpose in their current roles.
